HKWSA - Announcement for for Level 1 Coach Training (Part B & C)
 
A Level 1 (Part B & C sport specific) coach training course to meet the partial HKWSA Level 1 certified coach requirements is scheduled as follow:
 
Date:
January 18-19, 2007 evening lecture (5 hours - 7 pm to 9:30 pm on each day)
January 20, 21, 22, 23, 2007 on water sessions (1 day - 9 am to 12:30 pm & 2 to 5 pm on selected day) (tentative, subject to weather condition)
 
Venue:
Lectures - Flat D, 3/F. Sun Hey Mansion, 68-76 Hennessy Road, Wanchai, HK.
On water practical sessions -Sai Kung
 
Tuition Fee: HK$1,200

Entry Requirements:
 
Participants must be a HKWSA member, must be able to swim 50m and be able to perform basic tricks in the HKWSA Novice Trick List plus an air
Rotation trick (180 or above) and at least one grab trick (1 wake).
 
Topics to be covered:
 
History of the sport and different water ski disciplines, organization and activities of IWSF & HKWSA, code of conduct, different types of ski boats,
water ski & wakeboard equipment, basic hand signals, safety guidelines, speed restriction zones, warm up routines, how to coach (land drill and on
water practice) deep water start for water ski & wakeboard, coaching basic water ski and wakeboard techniques such as body position, wake crossing
with double ski and wakeboard, novice wakeboard tricks and mono ski deep water start, problems identification and corrections. There will also be a
multiple choice quiz & final evaluation on coaching techniques.
